Color Modifiers

A color modifier is another visible color that either be seen or alters the color. Color Modifiers on the laboratory report come first after the intensity of the color descriptor. For example, Fancy Brownish Yellowish Orange. Both brownish and yellowish are modifying colors with Orange being the primary color of the stone. This applies to all possible colors that can have a modifying color. Color modifiers are sometimes the deciding factor for a stone and its value. In other terms, a stone with a color description as Fancy Bluish gray would be worth more than a Fancy Gray. That is because blue in it self is a rarer color and its presence would command a higher price.
